JavascriptJavascript is a scripting language that can be inserted in your web page to make it more intelligent. Below is a clock, an example of a page that's a bit smarter. This code is processed by your browser on your local machine. Although compatible with most browsers, it is possible for a user to disabled Javascript, hence its not guaranteed to give results. Unlike C and other languages, Javascript is parsed one line at a time, ie. the browser sees a line of script, executes it then goes to the next. You don't need to compile the code into a form that only the computer can decipher. JavaJava is a language developed by Sun Microsystems. It is not Javascript and should not be confused. Java programs can run on browsers as code or as 'applets'. Again, the user can disable Java. |
